Meet Jill Setzer - Family Law Attorney

Jill is a family law attorney who focuses her practice on divorce, custody and visitation. Practicing family law for 18 plus years, she has found the best approach to often emotionally trying situations is to be as honest and straightforward with her clients as possible.

Jill has found that the key to moving forward in any case is to understand the reality of each situation. Major life transitions must occur for her clients to move forward, both while matters are pending and well after they have come to an end. Jill avoids sugarcoating reality to make those transitions as smooth and quick as possible. 

Additionally, her direct approach to practice makes it easier for her clients to focus on working through their cases. Staying true to her clients’ best interests, Jill brings practicality to otherwise emotions-driven situations.

Finding Her Way to Family Law

Upon entering law school, Jill worked in the legal department of a major corporation before clerking in an office of family law. After discovering just how lively and active family law can be, Jill decided to make it the focus of her practice. 

Moreover, Jill brings her own experiences as an adult-child of divorce to her practice. Her experience gives her the opportunity to provide her clients unique insights into divorce and parent-child relationships.

More About Jill’s Journey

Jill grew up in Nebraska and received her B.S. from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she was awarded a Dean’s List honor. She then made the move to Texas, receiving her J.D. from the Texas A&M School of Law at Texas Wesleyan University. 

While holding onto strong Midwestern values, Jill calls Texas home now and loves being here with her family. As a mom, you’ll find her spending time with her kids and husband.
